Sailing boats may be hired for any period from an hour to a week on most Lakes not just on the traditional favorites of Windermere, Ullswater or Coniston. The boats come in all sorts of sizes to test your ability.
If you desire to learn, or to improve your sailing, the choice is yours: either to teach yourself or to be taught professionally. The former may sometimes be cheaper, but it is less fraught, more fun, and also quicker to learn under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
